I have considered existing mobile app design as a base line.
I analysed the outcomes from existing and new customer research and together with the Product Owner I have co-created a concept for an MVP mobile app. However, the stakeholders have cut down the scope of user stories to the strictly necessary ones in order to meet a challenging deadline of 3 months.
I have updated the UI to align it with new brand guidelines, Material Design for Android and Human Interface Guidelines for iOS. I made sure that although desired AA accessibility level was out of MVP scope, at least basics such as colour contrast, size of elements and boundaries were covered in the requirements.
I've created a prototype in Sketch and prepared in-house user testing. I have outsourced recruiting of test users to external partner and prepared the testing scenarios. I have surveyed the participants. Based on the user feedback I have done two more iterations of updates and testing.
I have taken part in quality assurance testing after each development iteration.
As the app became available in the app stores I continued monitoring and reporting user feedback.
If the scope of the MVP does not match user expectations, users will make an effort to provide (especially negative) feedback.
To earn back the loyalty of customers it's a must to follow up on the feedback.
